Tomorrow, Wednesday the 29th, we will fly out of Houston, TX for Nairobi, Kenya. It could be up to 5 days before we are able to post again, but we will be back soon.

Yestderday was our last 'event'. We are winding things up (or down) for our trip back home. Our reception here in the States for our project A Future and a Hope has been wonderful. We've been so blessed by our old friends, family, and new friends as well.
Thank you to all of you who are supporting us and encouraging us. It's been a wonderful 8 weeks in the USA.
Johnny and I had no expectations. We didn't know how things would turn out as far as making contacts and hopefully generating new supporters, and we didn't want to call churches and go from church to church 'inviting ourselves'. We came with faith that God would make the contacts for us. Thank you to all of you who invited us to your homes, churches, and meetings to share our vision. We have been showered with blessings during our visit. I personally feel like a car whose been to the gas station!

Kate and her mother spent the whole day today packing for our return trip to Kenya next week. We are leaving Houston next week on the 29th for Nairobi.
Looks like we will be carrying 16 pieces of luggage! That is a lot of suitcases.

Today we are meeting with a ladies group at the Presbyterian Church in Port Arthur, TX. We will be sharing the vision for the orphanage with them.
Afterwards we are headed to Hemphill, TX to visit with some of Kate's relatives. We will return to Nederland, TX the next day and start packing for the journey home. We have been allowed 16 pieces of luggage, and I think Kate is making sure we use every one of them.
I wanted to take a moment to apologize for the lack of serious content lately. I have just been too busy with meeting people, taking care of business (501 (3) c stuff bank stuff), and enjoying American life and food. This is our last week here in the U.S.A. before we head back to Kenya on the 29th.
This Sunday at 3 p.m. the Rock Church South East will be holding a benefit concert for the girls home, A Future and a Hope. Everyone is welcome. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the band that will be there. I do know that Dr. Mike Deasy and his band will perform. Deasy is one of the best guitarist you will hear, so come on by and join in the fun.

A good friend of ours bought us a new computer a couple of days ago, and I am still playing around with it. I am trying to get used to this Windows Vista thing, so far I like it, though it does eat up a lot of computer resources.
It is an HP Pavilion laptop and has a lot of memory, a big hard drive, DVD burner, and other stuff. It will greatly enhance our productivity and stop Kate from constantly bugging me to get on my computer. Though I am jealous since she is to be the primary user of this new and fast computer and I am stuck with our 3 year old Dell.
Sigh. Good thing is that Kate does not compute much so I should be able to get some time on it.
We found a house! We got an email, since being here in the US, about a house that is coming up for rent in Nakuru, Kenya. It's got 6 bedrooms (4 in the house and 2 in a guest house), hot water (at times), and is in a very nice, secure neighborhood! It's on 1/2 an acre and has a small garden, too! We think it'll be a great place to start our A Future and a Hope project! Rent is $450 a month, which is more than we currently pay, so if anyone feels led to help us in that department on a monthly basis, it'd be a blessing.
