I have been once again reminded how we have allowed the worlds system of governing take over the administration of His Body called the church. I am not finding fault with the men who recently reminded of this truth. I love them and respect them very much for their contribution to the Kingdom of God.
It seems they are looking for someone to fill a position in a very needful, well placed and Christ centered ministry. The problem I see lies in the mode of procuring the man God has for the position.
As in most situations of this nature they incorporate the "worlds system" into the plan God has provided. We have allowed "the church" to become a democracy (led and directed by the people) when in fact it is designed to be a theocracy (led and directed by God). The worlds plot is a multi candidate system. It pits personalities, popularity, money, nepotism and various other factors to determine who is the man for the job. These candidates become competitors and expose themselves to the idea of self preservation rather than just being the part God has for them to be.
This candidating and competition could be stopped in the body of Christ by the simple process that God has laid out for selecting people for the work in His Kingdom. Simply one at a time. Let me explain. When looking to fill a position in His Kingdom Godly men should gather, seek the counsel of God and each other. Then offer the names of those they believe to be qualified for the position. One at a time they should be taken into consideration, interviewed and a simple yeah or nay should be given. If nay repeat the process for the next qualified individual.
This will eliminate the competition, politicking and all the other means used to try and make ones self better than or above his fellow man seeking the same position. The key is men of God selecting qualified applicants for a given position and then looking at the applicants as individuals not as competitors or a pool to fish in. If they are looking for Gods man they should know him when God presents him to them. If they do not recognize Gods man and their spirits do not bear witness with his spirit...something is wrong and it ain't God or His Word.
Voting has never worked in the Kingdom of God and I suspect it never will. What has worked is counsel of brethren coming to a consensus. Not using their opinion but the truth of what God says.
